In the power supply realm, when consumers think of quiet and efficient power supplies one of the first companies that comes to mind is Seasonic. Today, we are looking at a brand new Seasonic unit that is a bit unique in their PRIME Titanium series. In this review, we will specifically be looking at the PRIME 600 Titanium Fanless (SSR-600TL).
Seasonic is one of the older companies producing consumer power supplies having been founded in 1975 and entering the PC power supply production market in 1980. During that more than 40 years as a company Seasonic has cultivated lines of power supplies that are today some of the standard bearers for efficiency and quiet computing. This focus, and its reputation for quality, has lead to an explosion in production as Seasonic can be found providing OEM services on various model lines for Antec, XFX, Corsair, PC Power and Cooling, and of course under its own Seasonic brand.
Today's PRIME 600 Titanium Fanless is the latest in a long line of power supplies that we have seen from Seasonic, but it is only the third fanless unit we have seen from Seasonic (the previous two being just 400W models). In fact, this is one of the few fanless units we have ever seen and that alone makes this unit at least a little interesting. Making it doubly interesting, today, is the fact that it is the largest capacity fanless unit we have seen to date as well. So, we certainly have an interesting product on our hands today as this is a Seasonic PRIME based unit, it is fanless, and it is 600W. Those three things give this fanless unit, perhaps, a bit more interest and attention that what a normal fanless unit would have. With more attention and interest though comes more scrutiny. However, before moving on to scrutinize this unit, let's see what Seasonic has to say about this unit today:
PRIME TITANIUM FANLESS
The PRIME 600 Titanium Fanless utilizes the fanless technology, which eliminates the fan noise completely, ensuring truly quiet operation. The unit not only is rated to be 80PLUS Titanium efficient, but it also has the highest power output on the fanless power supply market at the moment. The power supply is ideal any situations that demand silence from the equipment. The high quality components inside and the innovative circuit design result in clean and stable power output. The fully modular cables allow for better cable management in the computer case.
Let’s move on now and see what we can expect when a user purchases the PRIME 600 Titanium Fanless power supply in retail in terms of documentation, accessories, cable count, rail layout, output characteristics, and general build quality.
