The new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU is the least expensive GPU to support NVIDIA Ray Tracing at $349 MSRP. What kind of real-world ray traced performance can it deliver in Battlefield V multiplayer with DXR turned on? We take a very fast MSI GeForce RTX 2060 GAMING Z 6GB video card and find out. Will it just work?

Evaluation Method

We evaluate what the card being evaluated can supply us in terms of a playable gaming experience while supplying the best culmination of resolution and "eye candy" graphical settings. We focus on quality and immersion of the gameplay experience rather than how many frames per second the card can get in a canned benchmark or prerecorded timedemo situation that often do not represent real gameplay like you would experience at home. Then we will follow with apples-to-apples testing in with minimum, maximum, and average framerates.

All of the following framerate data was taken from real 5 minute 64-player gameplay so of course there is variance in runs. We have played through no less than five times, and then taken the average of the three runs that we think best shows actual performance while gaming.

We are using the latest NVIDIA driver which is GeForce 417.71.
