We look at gaming performance on ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2080 overclocked video cards at 1440p. In this preview we will compare performance in five graphically intensive games with a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti and GeForce GTX 1080. All real-world gameplay compared. No canned benchmarks.

Evaluation Method

We evaluate what the card being evaluated can supply us in terms of a playable gaming experience while supplying the best culmination of resolution and "eye candy" graphical settings. We focus on quality and immersion of the gameplay experience rather than how many frames per second the card can get in a canned benchmark or prerecorded timedemo situation that often do not represent real gameplay like you would experience at home. Then we will follow with apples-to-apples testing in with minimum, maximum, and average framerates.

We are using the latest drivers at the time of testing. This would be the official GeForce 411.63 WHQL driver.

There is a bug in GPUz reading the memory bandwidth, that number for memory bandwidth is incorrect, but the bus width and frequency are correct. Our cards are running at the correct memory bandwidth, GPUz is just reporting it wrong obviously.
